What Is Licensing? How GLOV N® Works With Apparel Brands
Share
Licensing allows an established company to receive permission to use protected intellectual property in its own products under an agreed business arrangement.
What licensing means for GLOV N®
GLOV N L.L.C. owns patented apparel technology. GLOV N® is an apparel-integrated glove system in which the hand covering is stored in a flap-like sleeve pocket, unfolds onto the hand when needed, and remains attached to the garment.
Rather than operating as a direct-to-consumer clothing company, GLOV N L.L.C. is seeking qualified apparel brands, manufacturers, uniform suppliers, government contractors, and strategic partners that can evaluate the technology for their own product lines.
What a licensing partner may receive
A licensing agreement may give an approved partner permission to use GLOV N® technology within clearly defined product categories, markets, territories, sales channels, or time periods. Specific rights, responsibilities, quality requirements, royalties, and other terms would be established in a written agreement.
What the apparel partner brings
The partner may contribute product development, engineering, material selection, testing, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, and retail relationships. GLOV N L.L.C. contributes the patented system, product knowledge, demonstrations, and collaboration during evaluation and development.
Possible apparel applications
- Children’s apparel and outerwear
- Workwear and uniforms
- Outdoor and cold-weather clothing
- Public-safety apparel
- Military and tactical clothing
- Sports, fan, and commuter apparel
Flexible licensing discussions
Licensing structures may be considered by product category, market, territory, or other commercially appropriate scope. Limited exclusivity may be discussed for a qualified partner when performance requirements and boundaries are clearly defined.
How a licensing conversation begins
The first step is a business conversation to determine whether the system fits the company’s customers, product line, and development capabilities. Initial discussions can focus on public information, product benefits, and potential applications. Additional technical or confidential information may be shared later under appropriate protections.
